Our Staff

Donna Ambrose

Executive Director
Donna oversees the development, implementation, and on-going evaluation of programs and services that support our mission. She left the private sector in 2011 to pursue a career in non-profit organization management. Donna joins us from Madison, but her hometown is Beloit, WI. She enjoys going on long hikes with her husband Chad and loves to read and watch old movies (BIG Wizard of Oz fan!). Donna and Chad have a grown daughter and two fuzzy children. She’s an avid volunteer and looks forward to becoming active in the Wausau Community. “I’m passionate about serving those in need and collaborating with others to strengthen our community.”

Susan Stanko

Executive Assistant
Susan comes to The Neighbors' Place as a former volunteer for the organization. She is a Librarian by education and previously worked for 10 years at the Chicago Heights Public Library. She has worked with Wausau River District (formerly Main Street Wausau) and the Marathon County Historical Society as a volunteer as well. Susan loves working with the public and considers herself a lifelong learner.

Mallory McGivern

Community Impact Manager
Mallory found a home at The Neighbors' Place utilizing her experience in nonprofit work, food justice and education. She oversees many aspects of TNP's outreach, impact and programming and is proud to work with the incredible folks at The Neighbors' Place. In the summer she can be found biking, fly fishing, kayaking and backpacking. She enjoys spinning wool and making pottery when the weather turns cold. Mallory also serves on the Board of Directors for Monk Botanical Gardens and NCCAP.

David Phelps
