It is always enjoyable to donate food to help those in need, and I have been able on many occasions to do just that. Now I find myself in changed circumstance, and I have been coming to receive help for my family. This is not so enjoyable. It is a humbling position in which to find oneself, and I was unsure of how you would receive me.
I am glad to say that I was received with graciousness and kindness by all who work or volunteer at The Neighbors’ Place. I was not made to feel inferior at all. Each person I have dealt with has been only friendly and helpful.
I want to thank you – not only for the needed groceries – but also for the manner in which they were distributed. Although I look forward to the day when I am once again able to enjoy being a good donor, I am grateful for my experience of being on the receiving end of this help. As I sit in the waiting room during each visit, I am becoming familiar with the faces of those for whom I have been and will be making my donations. I will give with a better understanding the next time.
Thank you for your timely help,
A Grateful Recipient
